About

Lewis Creek Baptist Church

"Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?"

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NIV)

Lewis Creek Baptist Church was established on September 23, 1833, with ten charter members. These ten charter members met and held services at the home of William and Jesse Morris. From Morris' home, the church moved to a 20x25 foot log building with no heat in 1837, and then to a 36x40 foot frame church in the 1850's. In 1882, the church moved to a one-room brick building. Through several additions and remodels, the church has grown and changed over the years.

Lewis Creek Baptist Church has been built by God's grace, hard work, persevering faith, and the generous giving of many sisters and brothers in Christ over the years. Once again, God calls us forth to new things, and we recently finished building a new worship facility, which we have been blessed to put to use since Easter 2017.

As important as the church building is, what's most sacred are the people of God who participate in the family of God. The people are the church of Jesus Christ our Lord.

The deaconate also facilitates home communion for the home-bound in our church family. Please call or e-mail the church office if you have a deaconate care need.
